Jacqueline Cox Helmick
Eupora, MS

Devoted wife, nurturing mother, and loving grandmother, called to
our Lord March 11, 2013 in Tupelo, MS. Born in Charleston, WV October
26, 1935, “Jackie” grew up in depression-era rural West Virginia,
where she developed a life-long love of the beauty of nature, deep
appreciation of family and friends, and an especially devout and
abiding faith in God. She was married at a young age to the late
George Arthur Helmick and raised a family of five children during
their faithful 54 year marriage. She provided the serenity and
balance in her large family, treating her children and friends with
her wonderful cooking and baking while showering them with
unconditional love. She worked hard to always make family holidays at
home particularly special. Her cakes, pies, breads and Christmas
cookies were legendary.
Following her husband in his career to South Louisiana, Jackie
supplemented her homemaking role as an office manager when her
children were grown. She followed her husband again to Saudi Arabia
and eventual retirement to a beloved country estate outside of their
adopted hometown of Eupora, MS. In her many years there she enjoyed
baking, gardening, bridge with her dear friends, church activities,
travel and time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jackie was blessed with both great physical and spiritual beauty.
She was an extraordinarily gifted singer in her youth and a dedicated
student of Bible
history. Her famed prowess as a fabulous cook was just one of many
ways she exhibited her most enduring quality – selflessly giving to
others.

She is survived by her five children, Randall Helmick of Madison,
MS, Thomas Helmick of Zachary, LA., Amy Helmick Spencer, of Rayville,
LA, and Georgeanna Helmick Brandt of Gretna LA; as well as 5
